Family Trip to Michigan's UP

March 2012
We finally made a trip to visit Jay and Linda in the UP of Michigan.  It was a great trip at the end of March, now we need to go visit in the summer and of course go when there is snow sometime.

Cody playing at a playground

Trip to the Ice Cream Parlor where the kids tried to milk this big cow!  LOL

Yooper tourist trap we stopped at, they had all kinds of crazy things.  They all look so tiny sitting in that big chair.
Caley with Uncle Jay at Sunset Point (below).

Pictures from Sunset Point at Presque Isle in Marquette.  The rocks were so amazing here and  had such beautiful markings.  We snuck a few in our pack to bring back home.  Caley is such a pack rat that we had quite the collection by the time we headed back to the car.

The old air force base where Jay was working, the kids loved seeing all the old planes.

We found this light house while driving along the coastline to Jay and Linda's.
Wow, was it ever cold in Mackinaw!  We got out and it was actually snowing some it was that cold.  A nice day to stay in the car all day.  The four pictures were take on our way to Jay and Linda's but I couldn't get them moved up to the top of the post.  The kids wanted to get out and see the bridge from the beach, it was blowing & freezing cold out there by the lake.  We were in Mackinaw City ready to cross the bridge.

It was a great trip and we were so glad to get some time to spend with our family UP north!  We can't wait to go back in other seasons to see how it changes there & also stay a little longer next trip:)
